# Carhartt Hoodies From an Out-of-State Shop | How It Works

Buying custom Carhartt hoodies from a shop in another state: proofs by email, sizing, shipping times, and honest pros and cons vs a local embroidery shop.

Custom Carhartt Hoodie is one shop, Battle Born Clothing in Yerington, Nevada. Most of our buyers are not nearby. Here is how ordering by mail works, and when a local shop is the better choice.

## How it works when the shop is not down the street

Everything a local shop does across the counter, we do by email: you send your logo and the order details, we send a written quote, then a digital proof with placement and stitch count. You approve the proof in writing. We stitch, pack and ship UPS Ground. You never have to visit and you never have to call, although you can.

## Honest pros and cons

| | Local shop | Battle Born Clothing |
|---|---|---|
| Walk-in, same-week small jobs | Often better | Standard 28 days from proof; rush quoted per job |
| Try on sizes in person | Yes | No; we help you size by Carhartt fit |
| Published decoration prices | Varies | Yes, on this site |
| Hard minimum | Varies | None on embroidery or patches |
| Authorized Carhartt decorator | Varies | Yes |
| Laser-engraved leather patches in-house | Rare | Yes, since 2020 |
| Proof before stitching | Varies | Always |

If you need six hoodies by Friday and want to try them on, a local shop is a good choice. If you want published prices, Carhartt sourced by an authorized decorator, a leather patch option, and a proof before anything stitches, ordering by mail works well.

## Shipping times by region

| Ship-to region | Typical transit |
|---|---|
| Nevada, California, Oregon | 1-2 days |
| Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona | 2-3 days |
| Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico | 3-4 days |
| Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri | 4-5 days |
| Midwest, South and East Coast | 5 days |

Add transit to the 28-day production window when you plan your date.

## Taxes and invoices

Sales tax is handled per order. Your quote and invoice come from Battle Born Clothing.

## Avoiding the common problems

- **Sizes.** Collect sizes before you order. Ask the crew what they wear in Carhartt.
- **Art.** Send the best file you have. If it needs cleanup we will say so.
- **Dates.** Give us an in-hand date, not a ship date. We plan back from it.
- **Colors.** Carhartt color names vary by style. We confirm colors on the quote.

## No local offices

We do not have offices or reps anywhere but Yerington, Nevada. If a page anywhere suggests a Battle Born Clothing location in your city, it is not ours. Nevada customers can pick up at the shop by appointment.

## Why a Nevada shop

Our default blank source is SanMar's Reno warehouse, close to the shop, which keeps Carhartt blanks moving fast once stock is confirmed. If Reno is out, we use the next closest SanMar warehouse or S&S Activewear.

## A checklist before you send the form

1. Pick the Carhartt styles and colors.
2. Collect sizes, including tall and women's.
3. Find the best logo file you have.
4. Decide placement: left chest, back, sleeve, hood or patch.
5. Set the in-hand date, and work back 28 days plus transit.
6. Send the [quote form](/quote/), or ask the quote assistant first.

That list is the whole difference between a smooth mail order and a slow one. Battle Born Clothing will ask for anything missing, but having it ready saves days.

## Talking to a person

Phone and email work the same as in a local shop. The difference is only that the counter is a digital proof. A person at Battle Born Clothing reads every request, writes every quote and answers every proof question.

Every tier is on our [pricing page](/pricing/). When you are ready, [send your logo for a quote](/quote/).
